  1. Hey Amanda,
I really like your picture and topic. After doing a bit of research on Reading Accelerators, it seems like a very interesting device. Unfortunately, I hadn't come across one in my own educational past. Is this something that is used often?

    Thanks!

  2. Amanda, I personally have not only never used a reading accelerator, but in fact I have never even heard of one! How does this device work, and also do you personally think it is an effective tool to use? Is it something to help student's reading in terms of recognizing words, etc? Or is it (as its name suggests) just for the purpose of reading faster?

  3. I always wished that I had the chance to use one of these tools. Despite how much I enjoy reading, it would really help if I could speed up. My mom learned to read on them (or something very similar) when she was little. She would read a book through the machine and she would be quizzed on how much she could comprehend. To this day she can read a 3” fat book in less than two days. I am not aware of how popular these machines are now, but I wish they stayed. I think this skill would be useful to anybody.
